Skiddaw Croft Bed & Breakfast offers superb guest house accommodation in Portinscale, Cumbria. We are near Keswick and in an excellent location for exploring the Lake District National Park.

Four of our bedrooms are at the front of the building and boast far reaching views across Derwentwater and the surrounding Fells. All the rooms include excellent facilities, including free Wi-Fi. 

We serve a serve delicious breakfast to suit all tastes. We source everything locally whenever possible and also provide vegetarian and gluten free options.

We are in a prime location for exploring the Lake District, whether you want to do water sports, hiking, fell running or mountain biking. Both Derwentwater Marina and Nichol End Marine are only minutes away, both offering a wide variety of activities such as sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding, as well as boat hire and tuition. You can take the boat to nearby Keswick or walk to the town via the West side of the Lake for the Moot Hall market.

Further afield you’ll find the historical sites of Castlerigg Stone Circle and Honister Slate Mine. You can also head to Whinlatter Forest for rare wildlife, mountain biking and the GoApe centre for climbing activities.
